International Biblical Studies Writing Month
Chris Brady has designated (he gets to do that because he’s a dean) January 2008 (and a bit of December 2007) to be International Biblical Studies Writing Month. You can read all about it here, and Chris used a colophon to Biblical Studies Carnival XXV to remind us all. There’s nothing quite like public accountability to hold one’s feet to the fire. Therefore, I hereby declare my intention to complete the following projects within January 2008:
- The final, polished version of my book proposal for Genesis through the Centuries.
- A revision of my 2006 SBL paper on Genesis 19:9, suitable for publication (I’ll probably start with Hebrew Studies as far as submissions are concerned).
- At least two of my three outstanding (as in “not yet written,” not as in “wonderful beyond imagining”) book reviews for Bible and Critical Theory.

Thanks for the reminder! I meant to post a follow up, which I have now done http://targuman.org/blog/?p=1022. Remember, I even have a prize on offer!
This is unrelated to the IBSWM, but I just wanted to gloat…Memphis: 90, Pepperdine: 53.
Ha!
:D

Zephyr, I can’t take credit for that! I think maybe it was Tim Bulkeley who suggested extending the “month” through January, since December is pretty busy for most of us who teach. Ending a semester can be more work than beginning one.
